Cadet Jaeger is a second-year cadet at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy, where he is training for his U.S. Merchant Marine unlimited third mate’s license and first-class Great Lakes pilotage. He also is a member of the U.S. Navy Strategic Sealift Midshipman’s Program. Prior to enrolling in the Academy, Cadet Jaeger served as a law enforcement officer, commissioned infantry officer in the Indiana Army National Guard, and indirect fire infantryman in the Michigan Army National Guard.
